Head of Hotels at Ash
Anthony grew up in Providence, Rhode Island, and started his hospitality career at Brown University, working in the universities food service culinary department. He spent eight years training, working, and advancing through the kitchens Escoffier Brigade System. It was there he was bit by a radioactive spider. Anthony soon learned with outstanding leadership came great responsibility. He then took his culinary skills to Starwood Hotels and Resorts. After five short years, Anthony started running overall hotel operations, which grew into leading hotel renovations and openings for W Hotels in Atlanta and Boston.
Over the last ten years, in close coordination with Ash's design and development practices, Anthony has helped build the hospitality operations capacities of the firm. He currently works on hotel openings, stabilization, ongoing improvements, and continued operations of the Ash hotel portfolio, including The Dean Hotel in Providence, Rhode Island, Ash's first hotel. The Siren Hotel in Detroit, Michigan, Hotel Peter & Paul in New Orleans, Louisiana, and Ulysses in Baltimore, Maryland. He is also working on new Ash hotel projects in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Richmond, Virginia.
Anthony has been a board member of the Rhode Island Hospitality Association since 2017. He has served as the association's treasurer and is currently their secretary. Anthony was recognized for his service to others with the hospitality associations 2022 Man of the Year award.
He is a Class A volunteer for Rhode Island Special Olympics.
Anthony is a champion of inclusion and committed to creating a world where people with special needs and developmental disabilities are fully included in all aspects of life – in the classroom, the workplace, and our communities.
Anthony is a past recipient of the Rhode Island Governor's Award of Excellence for his culinary work with Davies Career and Technical High School and the Rhode Island School for the Deaf.
He is a past board member of the Rhode Island Down Syndrome Society and has served as a Buddy Walk event coordinator and fundraiser for the Down Syndrome Association of Atlanta.
