Hotelier
Born and raised in Durango, Mexico, Tely Nagle is a dynamic entrepreneur and Chicago hotelier with a proven track record for transforming creative vision into thriving businesses. Prior to entering hospitality, Tely's passion for business development led her to achieve remarkable success across various industries from real estate to enterprise when she founded Durango’s first security alarm business—which has now grown into a regional chain. After owning and operating restaurants in both Mexico and Illinois, Tely embarked on her biggest adventure in 2013 by saving The Drake Oak Brook from a Ponzi scheme alongside her husband, Jim Nagle. A Midwest landmark hosting past guests such as Frank Sinatra and King Charles, Tely has since dedicated her expertise to bringing the historic property back to its original grandeur while breaking new barriers to establish it as an internationally growing brand. Combining her devotion to personable hospitality and strong family bonds amongst eight siblings, Tely’s onsite team includes both hardworking relatives and team members that have pledged their loyalty to the hotel from day one. A tenacious duo, Tely and Jim’s commitment to this team made it possible to keep every staff member employed during the precarious times of the 2020 pandemic. Today, the property’s recent and upcoming developments under Tely’s watch include the launch of residences, the Drake Luxury Yacht brand partnership in Cabo San Lucas and Coa, the just-opened restaurant inspired by her culture. Tely and Jim reside at the hotel where they enjoy staying surrounded by their Drake family.
